This is certainly a popular opinion. Personally, I think the problem is more the effect that social media algorithms is having on what we see is more of the problem. Sure, there are as many published opinions about things as their are ideas, but most of us don't take the time to look beyond our own social media feeds and assume that what we're seeing all day is actually what is going on.
