Writing a book is something that many people have a desire to do. But getting started and maintaining the momentum to make it all the way to the end can be a challenge.

Let’s face it, whether you’re a first-time author or an experienced wordsmith, we all have many other things in our lives that compete for our time and attention. Some, such as maintaining a day job and spending quality time with your loved ones, are always going to take priority — and so they should. But for most of us, there are at least a few things that we can move around or change to find some extra time to write if we’re motivated enough.

For me, my spare time is at night. I know that if I cut back a little on Netflix and evening television, I’ll have plenty of time to get this book done.

The real challenge to writing a book, though, is committing to and sticking with the project for an extended period. I should know; I’ve written and published several over the years, but I’ve also started many more that have never made it to the end of the first draft. And that is where this writing challenge comes in.

My challenge to you
